At the start of his career, Andrew Christensen learned quickly how to set and achieve goals, a necessary and valuable skill for a business owner in today's work environment. As a supervisor at a telemarketing call center, his approval ratings company-wide were the highest of any supervisor due to his ability to help and motivate people.

Following this experience, Andy started his own general contractor business on small residential and light commercial projects. Shortly thereafter, he was offered a position as project manager at a St. Louis Park construction company, where he promptly learned to provide timely, profitable and efficient plans for job completion. He became known as a "problem solver." His flexibility and multi-tasking abilities were much needed as he was managing up to 28 separate building and remodeling projects at one time. While he was at that firm, he completed projects that valued up to $3 million, as well as created and executed marketing strategies to generate additional revenue for the company.

In May 2004, Andy Christensen started his own general contractor business, Heritage Construction Companies, focusing on commercial and retail projects.
